How to Sell Your Digital Products Via Google Checkout ( Google affiliate )

If you have ever tried selling digital products while using Google Checkout as your payment processor you might have faced many glitches. Firstly, Google Checkout does not have a mechanism to automatically integrate with your existing shopping carts. This means that for every digital product purchase that gets made on your site you need to manually approve each one. If this were a physical product it would not be such a big issue. Google Checkout is meant to primarily sell material products that require shipping. However, if this is a digital product then manual approval could signal a big warning. It is because customers want access to digital downloaded products instantly as soon as the payment is made. If there is a delay it means poor customer service which can backfire on your brand very badly. Moreover, the customers might not want to buy your product through Google Checkout. So what’s the solution? The answer lies in selecting a merchant service provider that facilitates automatic payment and instant digital download delivery for your customers.

No chargeback policy

When it comes to all physical goods or tangible goods Google Checkout proves to be a very scalable, efficient and robust payment processor. However, in the case of intangible goods like digital products Google Checkout’s chargeback policy does not cover such items. This means, that in case a physical product gets returned you can hope for a recourse and a moneyback option. In the case of digital or intangible goods there is no such hope. So incase a customer is not satisfied with a digital product which has been paid through Google Checkout you will have to shell out the money from your own pocket.

When checks are not an option

There is a way out of this by asking your customers to make payment through check but this is a very archaic method of doing business online. Most people prefer instant, online methods of payment and restricting yourself to check payment is like strangling your business growth. Instead, the better alternative would be to seek out a professional active and efficient merchant services provider that enables easy payment through Google Checkout. You could select a merchant services provider that accepts multiple currencies like the Euro, British Pound or US Dollar. Try selecting merchant service providers that enable your customers to make payment through credit card to deposit the amount directly into your Google Checkout account. The deposit of payments should be direct, automatic and instantaneous thus leaving no room for delays or loss in payments.

Instant payments

Most merchants these days face a problem when it comes to accepting payment through Google Checkout. In the case of digital products the payment takes 2 business days to reflect in your Google Checkout account. Thus many merchants are forced to wait for their payment which is a real bother. Ideally, your merchant services provider should have provisions to instantly deposit the funds into your Google Checkout account.
One such great merchant services provider to provide seamless, instant funds deposit into your Google Checkout account is Click2sell.EU (http://www.click2sell.eu). It has flexible provisions whereby merchants can easily sell digital products on their site and accept customer credit card payments directly into their own Google Checkout accounts. It delivers the digital downloads – your ebooks or software – to the customer instantly when you receive a payment, so your customers don’t have to wait for your manual product approval. Sell your digital products online, run your affiliate program to increase sales even more and get paid instantly to your Google Checkout account. Receive all the benefits of Google Checkout and sell your digital products – now it’s a very easy process.

How can I lose money by choosing the wrong affiliate program?

Try to find a product that has a growing target market. It is best to know there will be a continuous demand for your product or service. Do some research on the Google trends site to see what volume of searches have been made on Google in the area.

Look around to find a program that will pay you at minimum 30%. One that pays residually is also a great thing to look for. That simply means you get paid every month your customer you sent to them stays signed up on their program. You will be paid more than once for the same amount of effort.

Check out if they have any quotas you must fill to get your commission. You will find some affiliate marketing networks will have you jumping through hoops before you can get a check. Just be sure they don't make it impossible to get a commission.

It is best to select one that help you out with plenty of tools and resources so you can grow your business in the shortest possible time. Select affiliate programs that offer a series of emails you can send out to possible future customers, banners and other things that will make your job of selling easier. Not all programs offer you this kind of help.

Also, see if the program you want to join has a system that allows you to check your sales and compensations. It should be available online so you can look at it anytime on any computer with an internet connection.

Affiliate marketing programs that offer a strong incentive for members to renew their memberships each time is a great quality to look for. Programs that have new upgrades continuously and customer service that is easy to contact is one way to gauge a company. You can rest assured of the growth here.

Find out things members are not happy with in a program. Do a search to find forums that are talking about the product you are considering. If you see no negatives in a forum, ask about them. There is no harm in asking if anyone has had any downsides to a program. You need to know the negatives of a company before doing business with them.

It is a very good idea to have thorough and intense knowledge of the affiliate marketing program who will be your business partner.

Finding out about the company that is behind a network, that may be your business partner, will help avoid any future problems.

Why Google AdSense Is The Most Popular Pay Per Click Program

Want to make money while directing more traffic to your website? You might consider pay per click advertising streams. They can direct Internet users who might want to pay for your information or products to your site at the same time you offer advertising space to sites your users might be interested in. Before you sign up with the first pay per click or affiliate program you see, do your homework. Google AdSense is the most popular pay per click program out there today. It has the benefits of being in the game for a long time and offering a great deal of research and development into their keyword matching. But what if you have been removed from Google AdSense or just want to branch out and try other services as well? There are other options out there. Yahoo! also has a pay per click program, theirs is called Yahoo! Publisher Network. It works similarly to Google's AdSense program but has only recently come onto the scene. Users of both AdSense and Publisher Network have found that, though Google is quicker to remove an advertiser, they are still the most valuable. The Yahoo! service is likely not far behind, though. Chitika and AdBrite are just two of the other pay per click advertising streams currently online. They offer a marketing service and affiliate program. Here's how it works: - You create your website to sell your goods or information - You sign up for Chitika or AdBrite or a similar marketing program - Other companies who sell goods or information that compliments yours also join the marketing program - The program matches your goods/information and the complimenting companies - You advertise their site and they advertise yours, through a variety of marketing formats that feed directly to your sites There are four basic benefits of using a streaming advertising service: - Intelligent, targeted recommendations bring product and information links related to your site content to the visitor - Database that handles your ads continually "learns" which ads work best for your site and changes the ads as needed, in addition to regular ad rotation - You get paid when your visitors click through the ads on your site - You can usually bid on the cost of your ad appearing on other sites (at least with Google and Yahoo! programs), allowing you to easily manage your online marketing costs Affiliate programs offer similar, but not the same, website advertising. There are large affiliate programs out there that only permit businesses with mid to high level traffic. There are small affiliate programs that swap a one-for-one link and let anyone take part. New businesses should look for something in the middle. The best banner ads are those that are not rich with graphics. Textual link ads are the quickest to load so they are the most effective. The cost of affiliate programs range from tenths of pennies per click to monthly fees of $5 or more. Regardless of the affiliate or pay per click program you use, it is good business practice to run reports frequently and change the ad streams if you aren't making money from the ads on your site or aren't receiving much traffic from your ads on other sites. It is also important to change the information on your site often or offer freebies to encourage visitors to return again and again.

Google Affiliate Network - Will it Change the Way You Advertise?

If you read my previous article on Google building a silent affiliate network, you would be in for a surprise. It seems to be that my prediction of Google moving into affiliate networks was correct. Let me explain.

Google had bought over DoubleClick a while back. DoubleClick had an affiliate network called "Connect Commerce". Google today announced to its AdWords advertisers that they will be phasing out PPA by end of August and instead advertisers can now look to advertise on the Google Affiliate Network.

If you are new to affiliate marketing here is a quick synopsis:
1) Tim sells a product called BodySoft. Its an everyday cold cream.
2) Tim using various marketing methods such as PPC, SEO etc., but wants to sell more.
3) He is ready to pay upto 20 % of the sale value to anybody who can sell it for him.
4) Jill on the other hand, does not own a product, but she is good at marketing. She is looking to sell other people's products.
5) Jill can now sign up as an "affiliate" (classically, a "commission agent") for BodySoft with Tim and then sell his product.
6) Every time Jill sells a BodySoft bottle, Tim pays her 20%.
7) Both Tim and Jill win.

This means that any AdWords advertiser now has the opportunity to tap into the huge power of affiliate marketing without the hassles normally associated with it, such as recruiting dozens of affiliates, tracking every sale and action, accounting them appropriately and finally paying them. is entire (and rather cumbersome and sometimes painful) process of affiliate marketing has been taken away by Google with its new offering.

I have had reasonable success with PPA campaigns and its set to get much better. I will be keeping a close watch on it for you to let you know how the Google Affiliate Network is shaping up.

Use Google AdSense in Addition to Affiliate Programs to Up Your Profits

Google's AdSense is not an affiliate program in the broadest sense of the word, but you can find that you will make a little extra money on the side. AdSense is what is known as a Pay Per Click (PPC) program. You place the special code in different places on your website, and when a visitor clicks on it, you get paid. It is as simple as that, but it is still not as easy as it sounds.

Unlike an affiliate program in which you are usually trying to get someone to buy a product so that you can get a commission, each click from AdSense puts a few pennies in your pocket. These pennies will quickly add up, depending on the amount of website visitors you have.

If there is ever a program that works on the number of visitors, it is AdSense. If you receive millions of website hits every week, it is fair to say that you will also receive a few hundred to hundreds of thousands of dollars from AdSense. The more visitors you have the more clicks you will receive and more money you have on your monthly check.

AdSense issues a check once a month to any member who has made over one hundred dollars at the end of the two months prior. For example, if the month is now October, you will receive a check if you made over one hundred dollars at the end of August. Your September paycheck will be issued in November if you met the hundred dollar cut off.

People like the Problogger Rowse, have learned to use AdSense to the fullest. Rowse makes hundreds of thousands of dollars each month from his home in Australia and as the years pass by, his income is not dropping. He has literally turned AdSense into his own work at home business.

All of us cannot be Darren Rowse however, and in reality you will be lucky to make a few hundred dollars a year from AdSense, if you were to place it on your website. However, a few hundred dollars is always useful. You don't have to build your website around, but you should find out where it is best placed on your website.

AdSense works by searching your site to see which keywords fit your site. Once this is found, AdSense will show relevant text ads or banners if you have chosen when you created your code. You can also show both text and banners links in one form. You don't need to kill yourself trying to become a millionaire using AdSense but you can add it to your websites as a way to make money on the side of your affiliate sites.
